The Death of the Druid

I am forever in debt to my dear friend who died due to my actions.

"I didn't know I'd run into the room with that lava man.."

It had been one of my usual boring days of sitting around and chatting, when I noticed I could gate to other dimensions. I was quite happy, and I went straight to the fire planes. I soon found out how hot it was, and I left as soon as I figured out how. Then I went to the astral planes, and as well left after killing a few things. Later that night, one of my greatest friends, Ash, came into my reality. I was really wanting a flaming weapon from the fire planes, but too afraid to go myself.
I eventually got him to agree to come with me, and we set off. He had a crystal amulet, which made the fires there not burn him, yet I didn't have one. Finally I figured out why he wasn't getting burned, and went and got me an amulet as well. Then we set off, and killed a heat meiser, and got a flaming whip. I gave this to Ash, for I wanted a staff of fire. We kept going, and I found a funnel of fire, and me and Ash began attacking it. We were doing fairly well, each of us were hot from the flames, and then the funnel casted rapture. Now I was leading Ash around, and of course I ran, two rooms away, so the rapture wouldn't hit us. But you see, Ash kept casting estorm.
I didn't know I'd run into the room with the lava man, but sure enough I did. Ash estormed that evil beast and it flared him right back. I ran at the sight of a flare, but it was too late, Ash was dead. Due to my own actions. How would he have known I was going to run into the room with the lava man? No one did.
It was a sad day, the day I lead a friend to his demise.
